Our Mission

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

We believe Jesus has tasked all his followers with reaching others and teaching them what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Therefor, Five Rivers Church exists to send disciple-makers of Jesus by being disciple-makers of Jesus.

Our Vision

Five Rivers Church is the sixth church planted in a network of churches called The Well Network. Our vision is to see a Gospel-centered church planted by the University of South Alabama to reach the college campuses and city of Mobile. We desire to see the lost saved, discipled, and then sent back into Christ's mission.

Our Values

Biblical Truth

We are centered on the Gospel. We hold the Word of God as the inerrant and infallible revelation of God's own self to humanity. We will not waiver in being found completely faithful to God's Word.

Death to Life

We are for the one. We hold true to Ephesians 2; that we were dead in our trespasses, but have been saved by grace, through faith. We pursue others with the Gospel to see this death to life change happen in others.

Community

We follow Jesus together. The Christian life is not designed to be spent alone. Instead, we have been gathered together by the Gospel. We will do all things together and share the burdens of life whether we are rejoicing, hurting, resting, or working.

Spiritual Growth

We are becoming more like Christ. We are not called to stagnant faith. Instead, we are people actively seeking to grow to be more and more like Jesus. This growth doesn't end with extensive knowledge, but must also lead to action. We should always seek the Lord, His Word, and learn deeper how to imitate Christ.

Multiplication

We multiply on every level. Whether it be as individuals, groups, or even the church itself. We strive to make disciples who make disciples. We want to see God's Kingdom grow through replicating ourselves; Even if means seeing our own "castle" shrink in size.

Next Generation

We are for the campus, for the city, for the nations. Everyone in our church, regardless of life stage, will play a role in reaching the next generation. We understand that our faith must be passed on to those who will be here long after us.
